1949 - Jean Louis Domecq

Jieldé know-how

It all began in 1950 when Jean-Louis Domecq designed a lamp adapted to the needs of his business: a simple, robust, articulated lamp with no cables in its joints. Its distinctive feature is its circular and concentric contact system in the articulated arms, a revolutionary concept made of chrysocale, an alloy of copper, zinc, and tin.

1953

Success is here

The definitive model was launched in 1953. It was a success: the “Jieldé” lamp found its way into factories, workshops and drawing tables.

1985

Access to the general public

At the end of the 1980s, it reached the general public because it left the industrial world to enchant the interior of our homes, thanks to the multiplicity of finishes offered.

2003

New models

From then on, the Standard became Loft. In 2003, the Signal was born, which is a replica of the
original lamp in smaller size.

This will be followed by the Augustin, Clément, and Dante suspensions, the reissue of the Lak lamp and the Aicler range in 2019.

2005 to Today

History as you know it

The lamps are still handcrafted, using the original tools, in the workshops of Saint Priest, in the suburbs of Lyon, France.

Since its inception, the Jieldé company has been committed to designing and manufacturing its products in France.

We bring together our main suppliers, such as foundries and paint companies, within a radius of less than 20 km. The main players in production are long-standing partners, allowing us to guarantee optimal monitoring and quality.
